Doris Eanes Finney Obituary

REIDSVILLE - Doris Jean Eanes Finney, 67, of 2208 South Scales Street, Reidsville, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at the Hospice Home of Alamance.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Burton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church with Preacher Michael D. Finney officiating. The burial will follow in the Happy Home Christian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Finney was a native of Rockingham County and the daughter of the late Eugene and Virgie Adkins Eanes. She was a homemaker and was a faithful and active member of Burton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She loved working on the church bulletin and serving with the WMU. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Jean Eanes.
She is survived by her husband, George Finney, of the home; sons, George Finney, Jr., and wife, Rhonda of Reidsville and Michael D. Finney and wife, Melinda of Ruffin; daughter, Barbara Finney McCarter of Reidsville; grandchildren, Chase, Nikki, Megan, Mike, Matthew and Mie Jean; sister, Irene Garrett of Danville, Va.; brothers, Eugene "Bud" Eanes of Reidsville, Clarence Eanes of Savannah, Ga., Otis Eanes of Reidsville, Arnette Eanes of Ruffin, Lewis Eanes of New Bern and Lawrence "Ike" Eanes of Eden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 7 until 9 p.m. Friday at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
